Retention Criteria

Band Retention Criteria

To remain in good standing, band members will . . .

  • officially enroll in the appropriate ensemble class (symphonic band class, concert band class, marching band class, woodwind ensemble class, brass ensemble class, or percussion ensemble class) as required by the Director of Bands
  • not participate in hazing
  • remain drug free
  • exemplify good school citizenship
  • maintain a positive and cooperative attitude
  • attend and participate in all rehearsals and performances
  • be on time for all rehearsals and performances
  • carry a minimum of twelve (12) hours each semester
  • maintain a 2.3 cumulative grade-point-average
  • meet the performance standards of the ensemble(s)
  • practice and learn the music, assigned by the ensemble director(s)
